Judy M. Barclay,

Judy is a Founder and President Emeritus of the Board for The Full Life Ahead Foundation, a renowned national trainer on disAbility transition, and co-author of a Full Life Ahead: A Workbook and Guide to Adult Life for Students and Families of Students with disAbilities.

Barclay currently serves as a board member of the Alabama Association for Persons in Supported Employment (AL-APSE), a board member of the Jefferson, Blount, St. Clair Mental Health Authority, Co- Vice Chair of the Human Rights Committee, on the steering committee of the Youth Leadership Forum of AL, the Civitan Consumer Advisory Committee, and the Birmingham Area Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with disabilities. She is also the Alabama Chair for Alabama State Leadership Council for the TACE Center Region IV, a member of the National Association of Professional Women, and has just been recognized in the 2009/2010 Edition of Who’s Who in North America.

Previously she worked as a council member on the Alabama Developmental Disabilities Council, the Family Support Specialist for the Alabama Transition Initiative of the Alabama Department of Education, the Director of Partners in PolicyMaking of Alabama, a family liaison and transition specialist with the Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC), and a school teacher. She is a true advocate for individuals with disAbilities and their families helping them live a FULL LIFE in their own communities with the proper supports!

Barclay graduated from The University of Alabama. She is married to Henry Barclay, III and they have three children, one of whom had a seizure disorder and two grandchildren.

Henry is the managing partner of Lehmann, Ullman and Barclay LLP accounting firm and President of the Board of Directors and co-founder of The Full Life Ahead Foundation of HOPE. In his capacity with Full Life Ahead, he has a particular passion for working with families utilizing the HOPE team process.

He attended Tulane University and was graduated from the University of Alabama. With a particular emphasis on estate planning for business, Henry has a strong interest working with families to create successful succession of businesses and family interests.

Henry is also a Board Member and former President of the Forest Landowners Tax Council and is Treasurer and a Board Member of the Forest History Society. He is Past President of the Alabama Forest Owners' Association as well as a member of the Forest Landowners' Association, the Alabama Forestry Council, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants and its Birmingham Chapter, the Birmingham Estate Planning Council and the Birmingham Tax Forum.

 

Jan Cobb,
Founder, Board Member

Jan Cobb is a parent of a child with developmental disAbilities and co-author of a Full Life Ahead: A Workbook and Guide to Adult Life for Students and Families of Students with disAbilities.

With more than 20 years in the sales industry, she has been a National Sales Director, and is currently doing free-lance work. Jan and her husband, Mike, co-own Crestline Pharmacy where she is a buyer and Personnel Manager. She is a national presenter to parents, educators and service providers. She is also active with the Jefferson County Pharmacy Auxiliary, a Bible teacher, and both plans and executes all aspects of special musical programs for her church.

Previously she was a television host and music teacher and has worked with the Alabama Department of Education’s Alabama Transition Initiative and as a consultant to the Southeast Regional Resource Center (SERRC).

She is a graduate of Samford University and is married to Mike Cobb. She and Mike have three daughters and three grandchildren.
